I’m Preeti, a  practising psychologist

 

My journey into psychology began not in a classroom, but through personal necessity. When a close family member was diagnosed with a serious mental illness, I was suddenly navigating the complex world of psychiatric care and the emotional turmoil that families face during such times.

A family friend who was a psychiatrist became my guide, helping me understand psychiatric illness, sharing resources, and unknowingly setting me on an unexpected path. Through my own therapy and continued learning, what started as survival gradually became a calling, and after my divorce, it transformed into my life’s purpose.

The Turning Point

Therapy helped me process trauma and rebuild my life, but one thought kept recurring, if I had received proper emotional guidance earlier in life, how different things might have been. This realization drove me to pursue a master’s in psychology and several advanced certifications. I completed my post-graduation in 2020 and have been practicing as a psychologist and psychotherapist for the past five years.

Philosophy & Approach

My curiosity expanded beyond psychology into philosophy, where I found truth in Buddha’s words, “ Life is suffering.”

One cannot escape challenges, health issues, relationship struggles, work stress, or loss. What we can do is build the skills to face them effectively.

I work primarily with adults and teenagers, addressing a pattern I see constantly, our distorted understanding of love and relationships. Media has romanticized love beyond recognition, leaving people unprepared for reality.

My Mission

I believe we should be equipped with essential emotional skills early in life before marriage / relationship, career decisions, or other major commitments.

My work focuses on helping people understand themselves better, navigate relationships realistically, and build the emotional strength needed to handle life’s inevitable challenges.

With the right tools and mindset, we can learn not just to survive difficulties, but to thrive despite them.
